Title: Airblade AB01 Motor PCB repair
Post by: sirtet on May 16, 2022, 10:47:55 am
As in the thread here,

I have a Blown D33 too...

I got a bit further, but am still looking for more info:

I see on a working model, that D33 is labelled A6t (and a 90 degrees turned "12", that's normally a date code)
So that seems to be a BAS16 variant

(the t might be the MFG logo?)
Also, measuring a good D33 (or D29, the same component), matches expectations for a BAT16.

Have people had success with replacing it?
Using the same or just a similar diode?
And/or were there also other components defective?

You could try replacing that and if lucky it will work, but you will probably find it is still dead afterwards.
There are 5 or 6 components to replace for a more reliable repair.
We came to the conclusion they go bang from overheating, caused by a blocked or poor inlet filter.

We sell repaired exchange units and "generally" refuse to accept boards that have previously had an attempted repair, this is due to board / track damage which occurrs as the heat required to remove components is crazy high. Too little will damage the board as will too much heat.

We do get these too where the flash ic is also damaged rendering the board non repairable.
