Title: DCO3 head cracked
Post by: bbjunkie on April 26, 2018, 10:31:18 pm
Hi All,

Wish i'd found these forums before attempting repair of a DCO3 I was given!

In the process of taking the belt cover off I managed to break the head where it pivots on the clutch side.

Was considering a bit of Gorilla glue to hold it together but looking at how short the belt is I think there will probably be a lot of force on it.

Any thoughts?

(The belt kit I got locally, was told it fits DCO4 and DCO3) but the thin (clutch belt) is about half the length of the original that came off. Do they really stretch that much?

TIA
bb

yes these belts are pretty small and if not replaced before can be more than twice original size, in which case brush wont work

They are known to break on the pivot. I'd say glue is an unlikely fix in that location and a used head would be better.
