Title: DC07 Belts
Post by: trkbyron on May 07, 2014, 06:39:34 pm
Hi,
Why can I not find a genuine Dyson brushroll belt to clutch for the DC07 (All floors).I am guessing that Dyson consider the replacement of this to be beyond most DIY'ers but are still prepared to sell the full clutch unit which includes the new belt for around twenty quid!!!.Has anyone found a genuine belt for this job or do we just use an aftermarket one which seem easy to come by?Would also love to buy from anyone a genuine brushbar endcap which found its way into the dustbin sometime last week and is now helping to decorate our local landfill waste site :'(.The brushbar was only fitted last year and I don't go mad over buying the full unit again for needing such a small part of the assembly.Any help greatly appreciated.
Tim

You can get a genuine clutch to motor belt (902514-01), but for the pair you want the after-market ones - they are OK.

The genuine end cap isn't available on its own, however, if you were ordering anything from us, we could bung a used one in for free.

Aftermarket qtex belts are fine, used 20-30 sets and they transform the machine.

Clutch syripdown guide is in the how to section if you need help!

Thanks for the help guys.I have ordered a pair of the aftermarket belts for the DC07.Claire has popped in the brushbar end cap as well
I do have a genuine clutch to motor belt so will keep the extra one as a spare.Nothing looks badly worn now I have the clutch apart, not bad for around 13 years with some pretty hard use at times :grinn:
