It slipped under our radar somehow, hence the late reply.

They can be a bit slow to adjust sometimes. But as you have done already, a new brushroll cures 99% of height control issues.

As it's only 15 years old, there's another decade or two in it yet. The Sebo we use in the showroom is from 1986.  :icon_nod:

Hi

Thanks for getting back to me. I'll be honest after no-one repsonded after the first couple of weeks, I thought it was very much a case of no-one knew what else to suggest.

Since posting that though, after using my X1.1 a few more times, it now appears to be fine, and I'm wondering if there could have been an element of user error.

Our carpet is a reasonably deep pile, however, the high traffic areas are starting to get a little compressed and, on reflection, it was those areas it appeared to be struggling with to properly 'comb' the pile. I think it was a case of the self height adjust wasn't quick enough to adjust itself as the vaccum changed from unworn pile to the more worn pile if you get me, which was previously being made worse by the worn brush roller. The new brush roller and slowing down a bit has solved ther issue.

Hopefully onto another 13 years of fault free vacuuming  8)

Hello Dyson Tech,
thanks for the reply. OK, hear what you are saying, and I bow to your greater experience here, so I will stop worrying about it and continue to use my ~ 35 year old carpet washer/vacuum cleaner as it is.
If only we still made such robust items nowadays.
Regards

Just to wake this topic up, we still want old Dyson clutches.

Calling all Dyson repairers, engineers, and appliance trade experts.

Do you have any old Dyson clutches lying around gathering dust? Maybe they’re damaged, with burnt wheels or snapped belts? We’re interested in buying them for refurbishing.

Still £2 each! And we pay the carriage.

If you’ve got a quantity of old Dyson clutches just sitting in a corner, don’t let them go to waste. Get in touch with us via email >>here<< if you have some available.

Most people do away with supressors altogether nowadays.

Modern electronic devices, such as TVs and computers, are designed with built-in safeguards to mitigate interference from other appliances, including those that may emit electromagnetic noise like older vacuum cleaners.

These devices typically incorporate shielding and filtering mechanisms to ensure proper operation even in environments where electromagnetic interference is present. Additionally, stringent EMC regulations and industry standards require manufacturers to design electronic devices with robust immunity to interference from external sources, including household appliances.

In the context of your situation, where you've observed that bypassing the RFI suppressor in your VAX cleaner hasn't resulted in any adverse effects on your household electronics, it further reinforces the notion that modern devices are generally well-equipped to handle such interference.

Sebo Vacuum Cleaners / Re: SEBO X1.1 - Issues with auto height adjust on carpet

Are the green lights working on the machine? The ones that denote it raising and lowering?

If it is a very deep pile carpet, it won't go too low or it won't get the airflow it needs. Has it been doing this on that carpet since it was fitted?

Sebo Vacuum Cleaners / Re: Sebo x7 pedal position
« Last post by MVacs on Yesterday at 02:47:28 pm »
If you bought it used, I am wondering if someone has used older parts on it.

The X7, doesn't have the feature that X4s had whereby you could stop the machine reclining totally flat. They all recline totally flay by default.

Look at the back of the machine where the pedal is, can you see something physically stopping it?

Second Generation "The Ball" Dysons. / Re: DC 75 , motor failure/burnout

If you have a burning smell. a main motor is the likely culprit.

But a Dyson machine is not suitable for building trade use. That will be why the filters blocked up and took the motor out shortly after.

No, the 'Sweets' were white card with your parts supply logo on them :)

I didn't find a solution to this problem, unfortunately when it comes to electronics (I think they must be at fault somewhere) I'm stuck).

The next problem I want to solve is the battery replacement in the Coralle straighteners - I will create a post on this as soon as I have the device in the shop.

I'm sorry that I didn't have netter news on this.
Nik.
