Title: Dyson dc24 handle/wand won't lock or stay together
Post by: dwtjan on December 19, 2014, 06:00:43 pm
I bought the dc24 used about a year ago. Everything seemed to be just fine, aside from the handle not locking, which I do not know for sure, is even supposed to. And Dyson's so-called directions are next to useless for me. Pictures and icons instead of words?!

Not long ago the wand no longer clicked into place. The hose is all floppy and about an inch from locking into where it is supposed to. I have not been able to find an exploded view that I can actually see if there's a part missing. The bad part about this is the entire handle tends to come apart when I'm vacuuming.

I'm trying to locate a service/repair manual, diagrams, schematics, anything that might point me in the right direction! Any help is greatly desired and appreciated. Thanks!

The hose doesn't lock to the wand as with some other models in normal upright use. It does kind of flop about on the shaft of the wand.

If the wand is not locking, look at the red release catch. Is it broken and/or is the spring operative?

Me and a friend have DC24's and it is the wand which has broken.
