Title: Dyson Monopoly?
Post by: Jelcoelectrical on January 15, 2013, 10:58:52 pm
Used to buy a lot of ex currys demo/ex display/slightly used dysons from an auction house in the midlands, that is until Dyson realised that they were probably losing sales and changed the system so that all machines went back to them direct! I also see that the machines on display in currys now have big property of Dyson stickers on them... Nowt like keeping it all in house hey!

Friend of mine works at macro and tells me when they have dyson promos involving part ex's on that they are ordered to make sure all part exs are sent back to Dyson for destruction!

I guess by keeping such tight reigns on used stock they ensure the new models sell well.

But we can beat them when it comes to servicing and repairs. :-X

We once approached Dyson and asked them about their trade in machines.

They told us they crush them all. They refused to even discuss the possibility of selling some to us. Even 1000 at a time.

Doesn't sound awfully green to me. But then again nor does manufacturing in the far east. They have changed ethos somewhat since James took a back seat and the bean counters run the show.

Another satisfied customer...

Quote
just wanted to thank you for your service. the bin latch on my Dyson was broken. i phoned Dyson to get a new latch and they told me it was an integral part of the cyclone.  I told them that was ridiculous as i had the part in my hand.

I looked all over the net and came across you. Looked on your DC04 parts list and to my surprise there was the part. I could not believe how quick it came. I will definitely come to you for any spares that i need for my dysons and

 recommend you to others.

regards

Ian

It is very satisfying to get one over on dyson now and again. ;D
Very nice to get another new customer as well.
