Title: Brushes for Ametek motor?
Post by: neilsut on July 20, 2016, 10:02:45 PM
Hi,

I don't think new brushes for the ametek motor are available. But if anyone knows different please let me know. I'm just wondering if brushes for another motor may fit, and if so which one?
Just trying to get a DC01 absolute going again which has lasted about 20 years so far.

Thanks,

Neil

I dont recall ever seeing them.

But we have replacement motors >here< (https://manchestervacs.co.uk/Dyson/DC-1-ametek-motor) in case of need.

Ok, thanks. I may have to go that route then.

I've never seen them sold separately, you could cannibalise an old motor for the brushes, but that assumes that the brushes in whatever you take them from are in good order, not worn unevenly etc, and the commutator on the motor you are fitting them to also isn't worn in any way.

Any working 99p DC01's in your local area on ebay/gumtree?
