[attachimg=3]
[attachimg=4]
Oh. :o
[attachimg=5]
Filters are not too bad.
[attachimg=6]
Will do this one Tomrrow. and put our one back together. ;)

:o fixed sole plate, rare :thumbsup:

Very nice! That brushroll does look nearly dead, but easy enough to swap over whenever!
A little hack I do is to not put the cyclone release valves back in and cut some insulation tape to stick over them within the square moulding. Takes a few bits and a few minutes, but it really improves the suction! Valves can be put back in whenever for originality.

Yep. I'm going to do that for the both of them. Bye the way I've got a purple cable for that DC01 Dejstill

Lovely! I want a DC01 now, lol. My favourite is the VERY latest DC01, as I grew up with that one ;D YDK motor like your one, red cyclone stickers and the current Dyson logo. Everybody knew how to maintain a Dc01 back in the day :) I hate fitting a hose to one of these though, so stubborn

I think my Nan's is a late one as well with the first swivel soleplate. Our one looked exactly the same as that but with a fixed sole plate. I like the motor in our hoover. The suction without the release valves been taken out and covered is unreal. I wonder what it is going to be like with them covered! :coffee:

Yep. Also I think they are wurth £30
-
I noticed that if you cover the DC04 release valve with sellotape it has better suction too :)
-
PS I like that carpet, it brings back memories of the rental house we have, that was the same carpet there I think back in 2007
-
Striped her down at Lunch time. First Took off the cyclone.
[attachimg=1]
Now taking off the Sole plate and Brush bar, Belt.
[attachimg=2]
:o
[attachimg=3]
That's That Off!
[attachimg=4]
The hose. Removed the wand and pushed this clip.
[attachimg=5]
[attachimg=6]
-
Removed the filter cover.
[attachimg=1]
The wheels removed.
[attachimg=2]
Now the Cable and Switch.
[attachimg=3]
Unhook the switch and then the block connector.
[attachimg=4]
Cable off.
[attachimg=5]
Now the motor, undo 6 screws
[attachimg=6]
-
And its Out.
[attachimg=1]
The cyclone.
[attachimg=2]
Removed the release valves.
[attachimg=3]
undone that screw near the handle, gave it a tug. and its off.
[attachimg=4]
This bit was a pain in the arse. Did get it eventually.
[attachimg=5]
Washed everything ,dried it nicely with the hair dryer. just need to put it all back together.
[attachimg=6]
-
Before i continued on. I had this
[attachimg=1]
Started off by putting the cyclone all back together.
[attachimg=2]
Then the motor and hooking the wires on the RIGHT way, putting the six screws back in.
[attachimg=3]
The Kick plate on
[attachimg=4]
Its starting to look like a DC01 now.
[attachimg=5]
I put the cable threw the hole and hooked it all up.
[attachimg=6]
-
put that plastic cover back on.
[attachimg=1]
The brush bar all greased up and a new belt on.
[attachimg=2]
The Sole plate on.
[attachimg=3]
The wand and hose back on.
[attachimg=4]
New filters in all round.
[attachimg=5]
Done!. That's much better i must say.
[attachimg=6]
-
I might buy this one and strip it for our hoover. its a minter though!, might just swap the motor for our one because its practically new.
[attachimg=1]
[attachimg=2]
[attachimg=3]
[attachimg=4]
[attachimg=5]
[attachimg=6]
-
No, don't strip that! I'll have it if you don't want it and can post! That's the DA001 style font, but the DC01 branding, so an early DC01!
Looks unfaded too. Don't break it for spares!

yeah I know but our hoover needs something to get it back to the way it was. I can't find anything otherwise I would. but that's what our hoover looks like when it was new.
-
If it has a fixed soleplate, I'll buy that and the bin flap if you are breaking it.
-
I eventually made my mind up. The motor from our one went into that blue DC01 and is perfect now, Then bought a early DC01 off eBay not to long ago. And used the Parts to get it up to tip top condition. Ah, Perfect.

Nothing like making something perfect again ...
