Title: Sucked up screw in new Dyson 43

Yikes!  Just received new DC43 today.  Used for 30 mins and then I inadvertently sucked up a 1" screw (sigh).  I immediately stopped the vacuum and emptied the cylinder - no sign of it.  I was using the hose attachment - so its probably in the ball thingy.  Any suggestions on investigating? I'm worried about turning it on and damaging the engine.

It wont be in the ball, it will be lodged somewhere between the hose and canister. Its a case of following the airflow and finding it.

Wot he said. Even if it got as far as the canister, the filter would prevent it entering the motor.

Thanks for the messages.  Spoke to a fellow at Dyson Canada today and he walked me through the process of following the air flow.  Found the screw sitting in the base of the hose.
Happy camper again.
