Yet another dc40 head problem erp model brushes don't turn on carpet but when lifted and pressure is not on then they spin, tried adjusting the suction lever with no difference, any suggestions? Thanks matt

I was at my local recycling center lately and noticed this Dyson in the electrical appliance recycling section.
It looked barely used, I had never seen one of these before and most importantly it was complete so I took it home.
The switch on the handle for turning on/off was stuck but was an easy fix. I stripped it down, cleaned everything and re assembled.
The motor has very little wear. I always liked the DC05's. Are these motor head versions rare as I have never come across one before.

I have an AB01 with a defective control board.
The logic board has only parking-sockets for the mains leads and the control logic parts, most of the pcb is just empty space.
a marking that looks like a part number (and maybe production date?) reads 16731-01-01

I am offered a logic board with power supply on it, the box has a Part-Number 918205-1
and the pcb a marking (part-number?) of 13884-01-03

Does anyone know if this is a suitable replacement?
As i get it, the AB01 had an optional module, and i guess it is powered by that power supply, so i guess this should work, even if i don't have that additional module?

That’s what you want if you only need to replace the top section. If you need to replace both, you need to strip the cyclone down to fit the lower one, in that case look at the DC40/41 strip down topics in the sticky topics in this room.

Hello, we have a Dyson DC 41 vacuum. We have broken the red release button. We have the new one, and are looking to replace it. We can’t figure out how to remove the old release button. I saw something about the DC 40 having the same procedure, but as a new user I can’t seem to find that post! Any help would be appreciated. By the way, I found you by using an Internet search. 5379 is 5109, same belt.

All European X1s have the same motor.
