Title: DC24 making a really loud noise
Post by: funny_noise on September 14, 2021, 12:17:22 PM
Hi, my DC24 is making a really loud noise when the brush bar is turned on.  Is it likely that it needs a new motor?  Have others had similar issues?  Video here:
Thanks.

It can sometimes be the brushroll (https://shop.manchestervacs.co.uk/dyson-upright-vacuum-cleaner-spares/dc24-spare-parts/dc24-brushroll-beater-bar) and end cap (https://shop.manchestervacs.co.uk/dyson-upright-vacuum-cleaner-spares/dc24-spare-parts/dc24-brush-roll-end-cap). Take them out and see if the noise goes away. If so, replace them.

Noise where? Is is still present with the brushroll switched off? If not, then advice as above: change brushroll and the end cap.
