Hi All,
Just saw this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dyson-Hand-Held-Vacuum-FOR-PARTS-OR-REPAIR/222516301990
What I find interesting is the price. Specifically, the price and lack of bids. Assuming I can point out the massive crack in the cyclone and get the item for $10, what do you think about my chances of fixing it for personal use (so a less than ideal bodge with epoxy wouldn't be a issue)?
I know it's missing the extension ($30) the filters ($15 & $20) and charger ($20?), so I would have to commit to at $85 additional to get the full kit. I could use pieces of my 35 (extension, possibly charger if they're compatible), and do without the HEPA filter, at least for a bit.
The backup plan, if it doesn't work on delivery, could be to sell the accessories & battery to recoup my outlay.
Am I over estimating out well this could turn out?

I posted this and someone bid on it :)) :))

Can confirm it wasn;t me - although sometimes if I think something is worth a fair bit ill bid it up a pound or two to make the seller get a little more cause no doubt someone else will bid up three pound more than they originally did for the sake of something. - only accidentally won something once :'( I had to say I accidentally clicked the bid button and they re-listed it - the one before me must of been doing what I did because I only bid 41 pound - they bidded 40 pound - they dind;t bid up :D :D
-
haha, whoops.
Yeah, I'll bid this up a bit.

That's not a nice thing to do Elgin, you cause the buyer and seller grief for no reason at all :censored:
I've had people like you on items I'm selling and if I new who it was I would slap you into next week >:(

I was always told by a British friend of mine that I should never call a Englishman Welsh. Something about sheep.
Anyway, it's easy to miss the US, all tucked away down there.

I like the welsh, especially if she's from the valleys.
I like sheep too.

Why the valleys?

The accent, dose something to me. :-*

I'll hit up youtube. I'm sure that'll do wonders for my recommendations for months to come.

Oooh a busted ass V8! :o They only came out like a year ago and it's already been abused that much?! Zamn

It's funny, I follow a few auctions.
Someone listed a DC24 with no suction for $0.01 + $20 shipping. It sold for $61 + $20 shipping. $80 for a DC24 in need of work? Get outta here!
The V8 is currently at $31 + $27 shipping.... $60 for something missing multiple pieces and busted up badly? Again, no thanks. I'd take a crack at fixing it for personal use but you can't sell it. Parting it out could work well but it's alot of upfront outlay. I dunno.
