It took the parts so long to get here that I can't remember how to put my machine back together! I need a lot of help!
-
I'm sure I'm going to be posting a lot of silly questions. I apologize in advance. It was a simple fix, or so I thought, and then decided to take apart further to "clean". Big mistake. Lets start at the beginning!
So at the beginning....What color wires attach to J7, J6, and J5? I tried to attach pictures but they were too large!
Thanks in advance!

Does the strip down topic here (https://manchestervacs.co.uk/DysonForum/index.php/topic,1001.0.html) help?
Photos can be resized by doing this (https://manchestervacs.co.uk/DysonForum/index.php/topic,506.msg3667.html#msg3667).

Welcome to the site :tiphat:
OK, it would be best if we know what exactly the help is required with. It would be better for us to understand with pictures too :)
We look forward for hearing from you

ok. i need to know which color wires to connect to j7, j6, and j5 to get me started.

Parwaz is the man, but I have to ask why you didn't take photos for reference :O
-
As for photos - I can admit I am an idiot. I'm usually good at repairing things (for a female in her 30's who is pretty handy!). I couldn't afford to have it repaired, couldn't afford a new one and was desperate. It came apart so easily! Parwaz7862 please help!!

I'm ashamed to say I have never owned a DC15, or even used one :o I have owned all Dyson uprights from DC01 to DC41 except the DC15, DC18 and DC27 :oo
Beko 1987 can help you though :) Mvacs can too, they have experience with DC15's

There is a picture of the board on the 'how to replace the motor' thread that shows the wires connected. Maybe of some help until someone can come along with an answer.
-
I will look at that thread again. That's the one that helped me take it apart!

I'm figuring out a lot today, just having time to spend with it all. Some big questions. The blue and yellow wires should connect to black and white but which one to which?
I also am confused about the upright switch so any help with that would be appreciated.
finally....where does this spring go???
-
well i somewhat did it. except now the brushes still spin when it's upright and the switch for the brushes doesn't work. and there are those 4 extra screws....but it works!
-
Maybe a simple crossed wire or loose wire on the switch? (If it has one)
If it's clutched then, it'll be a simple mechanical problem ;)
Well done dude!
