Title: which is the best mains powered Dyson Cylinder machine ?
Post by: grahamwin on April 15, 2019, 12:07:43 am
Hi Dyson - cylinder fans which is the easiest Dyson mains powered cylinder cleaner to own. From a point of view of cleaning suction ability, ease of maintenance and general ease of repair? I have a recommendation that the Dyson DC08 was one of the best that was they made. What do others think or recommend?

DC05 motorhead always impressed me.

DC05 motorhead always impressed me.

But they are as rare as hens teeth and many spare parts are now unobtainable for them.

DC08, DC19 or DC23/32 are all pretty similar and quite capable machines.

DC08 for the cheap and fairly bulletproof win!

The DC28C and DC39 were awesome, just they do get clogged with larger objects that an older Dyson cylinder can handle though. They get clogged just before the bin entry. However they're still powerful, more quieter and don't get stuck in door frames! They look better as well. My favourite Dyson cylinder is the DC39.

I loved the Dc08 and DC19 years ago but I recently got a DC19 again after being used to a DC39 and its a massive downgrade in terms of just feeling chunky and getting stuck in doorframes.

Make sure you get the ERP head with the purple rubber around the head.

Otherwise I'd recommend a Dc05 as well as that's basically a DC04 in the form of a cylinder (straight suction still)

PS the DC08 has 12 cyclones whereas the DC19 has 8, despite looking the same.

I'm not sure but they can be bought anywhere, off Amazon, ebay, etc, they look like a normal Dyson Dc19 head but with the red lever by the wheels and purple strips
