Sam showed me this and thought it was pretty cool, not keen on the orange wand, looks ugly :boggleeye:

Just found a Dyson video on it, the emptying mechanism looks next level wtf :o
-
I like it
Not sure about the colour combination :boggleeye:
-
Same! I like the looks of the ~DC44 and DC59, but not this :S
I wonder if a DC59 wand will fit?
-
Looks like they have changed the tool socket again.

This is the improvement I was waiting for. I always thought the battery life was the biggest issue with their cordless machines. 40 minutes puts it on par with my gtech airram. The screen scraper is also a neat idea, I have to clean the screen on my dc59 frequently.
I know the cordless machines are somewhat controversial for many of the members on here, for me personally they are the only current machines dyson make that I am interested in purchasing. This does make me glad I didn't buy a v6 absolute!
Overall, love the battery life, like the bin, like the new max switch, the color is iffy, and I HATE that they changed the tool socket.
Parwaz, thanks for bringing this to our attention!
Still waiting on that year-and-a half-old robot lol!
-
Oh no, well spotted though :) Tools will be a pain in the rear unless they are making a new generation of tools for their future vacs
Dyson DC16: You're welcome ;) I love the battery life, the suction power and the head, thats about it :/ I prefer the looks and the V6 total clean overall. The orange wand is so ugly, why :'( It would look better in either satin red, blue, silver or purple IMHO
I'm also waiting on the robot as well haha, think it will launch this year in the US

How well will that shroud scraper work if it gets gunked up/something small gets caught in the shroud etc?
I'll wait for you blokes to get one and report back. Have to say £450 would buy an amazing car, not a flipping dustbuster!

Haha true :))
I'll probably get the V6 total clean unless they have different V8 colour variants that I might like, I quite like the DC59
-
Never said I paid full price for my dc59! ;D Admittedly my dc59 is probably the most I have ever paid for a "flipping dustbuster" but in my mind it was worth it.
If I were to buy a brand new vacuum right now it would be another miele. They have re-released an s4 over here for half the price of the same-spec s6. That's what I would go for.
Looking at it again, the color combo is really, really bad. The orange just looks off, would have been better with a silver or red wand. And beko is probably right with the shroud scraper, being a new feature on a dyson it will fail on some.
-
I love it it looks amazing,I think dyson do the best vacuum ever in my opinion.
-
It does look lovely, and probably is the best handheld you can buy that does floors and tools well
-
they'll bring out a V12 one shortly, you just watch they will.

V10 first I bet.
Its an iffy marketing model in my opinion that new new one is sooooooo much better than the last. Its like saying our last one was crap and so will this one be in a year.
What I like about Sebo: "Here is our 1979 model. We changed the odd clip and bracket back in 1988, and again in 1995, but they still work just fine and last 18 years plus and look exactly the same as they always did for a hundred quid less than a Dyson - and will still be running when Beko is selling your £400 Dyson for £60 on eBay".
Dyson would have done just as well keeping the DC14 in production alongside the all new Clint Thrust V26 special edition with added price tag and extra blockupability.
-
Very true
-
Ah forgot the V10 what a fud. The way that this market mostly works and what people think "newer is better". I still think the DC01 and the 04 is the best dyson ever not matter what.
-
How about a W8 or W12 :king:
-
I still think the DC01 and the 04 is the best dyson ever not matter what.
Remember when the Hoover Junior copyrights expired, and companies started making them again? I reckon as soon as that is permissible with the DC04, that will happen again.
In the same way you can buy a Morris Oxford in India, called a Hindustan Ambassador. Or a VW Beetle in Mexico.
-
Yeah just stand back and watch it will be the same for the ball as well soon.
-
I think the Betel finally retired a few years ago.

Too many parts on a ball means expensive production and a lot of tooling. DC04's are nice and simple. Motors and hoses already out there, not as many parts to tool and no especially complex tooling either. I bet you could tool up for a DC04 for under 100k in China (if and when it is ever allowed - a lawyer question), and first production run same again. 200k isnt a fortune to some of the after-market spares companies out there.
-
Qtech cyclone ;D
-
What do you call them. Is it G-Tech air ram or something.
-
Qtech cyclone ;D
QT04? I'll ask that question out of interest when we next speak. ;)
-
And QT05
-
Omg a chinese DC04? Will it be exactly the same as a genuine Dc04? BRING IT! ;D
I dont know why there's no fake DC01 yet though :/
-
Too many flaws in design, better to skip it and go for 04 05
-
If am aftermarket company makes DC04's I would so get one! I am worried they might not be as good though or something?
-
It would be cool, but hit and miss as to wether it would be a success or not
-

The DC01 technology has been done, and is starting to be left behind. Vax are up to multi cyclones now aren't they?
They should make a metal DC04, milled out of ali or something.
-
I think I may just have to upgrade me DC44 when this comes out
-
Ah, there are some dual cyclone vacuums but I want a company to make an exact clone, like if Argos were to make a value range vacuum and make literally a Dc01 or DC04 or something but branded nothing that could be done? ;D That would be awesome
-
Apparently the orange is James Dyson's favourite colour
-
I have a v6, I like it allot , Its fitted with the motor head. That said I am not sure I would be in a great hurry to replace it with a newer version anytime soon, Its suction is very powerful , powerful enough to do any duty's called apon it.
What I want to kow is when is dyson going to launch a full size battery powerd vacuum, Like Hoover has already done in the USA. Other manufacturers are following suit and it makes sense.
I would use my v6 allot more if the bin was bigger. Put a battery pack on a dc41 even a dc51 and Will be fist in line to buy

How do u know? :O

I was speaking to a dyson rep in currys, who says she will get me a freebie!! ;)
-
