Title: DC31 Slow Flashing Green LED
Post by: brett83 on October 01, 2014, 10:21:38 pm
Hi,

I have a DC31 to repair.  According to Dyson the slow green flashing light means the battery is dead or not charging but the 22.2 V battery has 20 V of charge.  It periodically switches on for a little while, but 90% of the time there's no power at all, just the slow flashing green light.

I think it might be an intermitent connection in the motor housing but impossible to gain access.

Has anyone fault found one of these before ?
Thanks

The batteries are pretty crap on hand helds. Check the output of the charger with a multimeter and if that is OK it is likely the battery not holding enough charge.

Yes! I had the same symptom with a DC16. After much head scratching it turned out to be a fault somewhere on the PCB. I think I'm right in saying if the red light flashes when the trigger is pressed then it's a battery problem. As Stuart says, the batteries on handhelds are sheeiite!
