Today I went and picked up a second hand DC07 all floors US model. ;D
This has to be the cleanest best condition second hand Dyson I have ever bought !!
Complete with all 3 tools it shows minimal signs of use, and the only annoyance I have is that the hepa filter has been replaced with a pad which looks like its been washed :'(
Enjoy the pics, I plan to eventually convert the machine to run 240v with a 3 pin plug.
The only noticeable difference is the brushbar has really stiff bristles compared to our UK DC07s and that the opening in the soleplate is much wider, other than that its about the same as a UK spec machine.

Super tasty!
Use a transformer.

I just had a quick look how much they are... :(

I always thought the Yellow dc07 were non clutched only?
-
Yellow clutched is the bog standard here. Use a transformer, dont put one of those horrible ydk motors in it :underchair:
-
Ohh I want a British American DC07, an american DC14 with the dark blue body, the low reach and full access in red along with a 17 ;D
The American ones all had clutches except the blue DC07 carpet model which about as rare as a DC02 DAS here, roughly. In Australia they had both clutched and clutchless DC07s and 14s in yellow
Apparently the American ones are quieter than the UK screamers but a YDK motor is much cheaper than a transformer ;)
-
PS How stiff is the brushbar? As much as the stubborn dirt brushes?

What motors do you guys use your end of the world?
-
Some type of panasonic. They seem to be reliable as i hardly hear of burnt out ones here.

Wish we had reliable motors! That died off since the DC04s with YDK motors came along
-
But then you brits trash your stuff anyway :underchair:

I think the YDK motors are unreliable VS the Ametek motors, thats why I dropped my nans old Ametek motor in my absolute

If thats true then im the only british guy who doesnt trash their stuff
*Totally didnt rip a laptop to pieces and threw it in the bin*...

I've had Ametex motors go bang.

Indeed, why DC04 Ametek to YDK adaptor kits (https://manchestervacs.co.uk/Dyson/DC04-ametek-motor) exist.

This Ametek has run through a war and what ever you can throw at it it survives,

Isn't the kit just the YDK rubbers and retaining ring?
-
Re voltage, would a cheapy/good used UK ydk drop straight in, possibly with a switch but I can't imagine that's voltage dependant

If its the same switch as here it is a 100-300v, 50-60Hz, 16Amp switch, Or at least that was on My old origin and my dads Animal, (Which I have refurbished kinda with a few DC04 parts and works like new again ish)

Well I still belive in my war surviving Ametek at the min, once that goes bang the YV-511 goes back in.

Once again Ive gone off topic... Is there any threads ive touched that hasnt gone off.
Anyway I hope you can get the voltage thing sorted, shame theres diffrent voltages, much easier if everyone used 240v - 50Hz

True to some extent, there are loads of mongs about in England.
-
True but the prise for most Mongs must go to the US.
