Title: Non YDK Motors - what to do with them
Post by: stu_c on September 24, 2016, 10:39:56 am
Hi all
As some of you my know my father used to repair Dysons but due to health reasons he no longer can, I am going to try and carry on what he does for now but just a quick question, my father has a load of YDK motors that don't work what is the best thing to do with these? Is there a company that buys them to restore or are they just a disposable thing, I have no idea what is wrong with them some maybe as simple as new brushes required but I'm not sure, many thanks :)

Scrap them. Find a scrapyard that will accept them as "motors" and not "light iron".

They tend not to be repairable. Usually, when they are knackered, they are knackered.
