I ordered a new motor from a repair shop for my 07. The motor is slightly different and does not fit. The technician says that mine is an older DC07 model (7years or so) and that there is no replacement motor for it. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Bill

I see you are in the US; that is relevant to the topic as motors over the pond differ.
Do you have any numbers from old and new motor? Or photos maybe better.
I am sure it will just be a case of replacing a rubber or something simple. Your technician I reckon is spouting hot air and doesn't know Dysons so well.

The motor that I have is very similar to the one sent to me. The differences were that the new fan casing was slightly smaller in diameter and did not fit well into the rubber shroud. Also the attachment points would bind with the plastic chassis when inserted. The new motor was very similar, but had definite differences that would not work with the rubber housing or plastic housing. I will look for numbers on the motor when I get home.
Thanks

Is it a YDK or AMTEK motor? Will say on the motor and rubbers somewhere. They should match..

Thanks everyone. Found the YDK motor. Pictures show correct wiring and all. Ordered motor. Will reply how it works. Much appreciated.
