Title: Question regarding the "fin type" part to the rod DC07
Post by: ocddyson on March 05, 2018, 10:55:23 pm
Tonight I re assembled a DC07 cyclone assembly and had a nightmare attaching the what I can only describe the "fin type" part to the rod inside the bottom part of the cyclone assembly before it went into the part that releases the bin catch if you get my meaning (my apologies for the vagueness) I didn't take a picture before re assembly however my question is does this part serve any purpose and in future should I just leave it off or is it required, any help or info on this would be very much appreciated.
Hopefully I have explained things clearly enough.

No worries, thanks for taking the time to reply, I'll be leaving them off from now on.

Having just been lucky enough to pick up three working DC07s for a tenner, I was intrigued to find one of these "fins" in the first one I stripped. This machine was British built. The other two don't have the fin, and were made in Malaysia. Perhaps the fin was unique to earlier machines. As luck would have it, I managed to put the fin back in quite easily. I can see how this could be a fiddle though!

They are a pain in the arse, I remove them and never re-fit them!
