I bought a second hand dc07 which i have given a overhaul including new motor and seals, the cyclone has been fully cleaned out so it looks like new only problem is it smells?
Does anyone know why and a remedy?

Can you describe the smell?
I know a cure, get a pad filer and wash it with a scented detergent, like shampoo which is stronger than fairy liquid. What I did with my smelly DC25 was I washed both filters with scented shower gel (lynx) and then sprayed with lynx deodorant which was the same smell, smelled lovely when I was vacuuming!
Also make sure there's no moisture that had been vacuumed up, had a Dc07 animal with a smelly hose and it was nasty, needed replacing!

Neutradol spray, spray all internal parts, bin etc put back together and leave for a few hours.

The smell is similar to trainers that have suffered from sweaty feet!
Would washing bin with disinfectant work?

When you say the cyclone was cleaned, was it stripped down to do this with the shroud off as well?
Trapped water mixed with dirt gives the smell you describe. It is essential with a DC07 that the cyclone is stripped down properly, using a pressure washer is better, and then left to dry completely with heat. If not, it will honk.

What MVacs said^ The fins at the cyclone pull out downwards each along with the rubber gasket and then the shroud can come off.
When I think it's dry, I tip it upside down, the right way up and on it's side aswell to see if there's still any water dripping out of the cyclone exit and just shake it about outside see if there's any water on the ground
Washing the bin wouldn't really do much if its clean and dry, it's best to check the cyclone and both filters as those are most associated with smells in a vacuum
