Title: DC14. motor just stopped working.
Post by: robc on March 18, 2012, 10:29:45 pm
Hello, machine 3-4 years old, not particularly heavily used.  Was working fine, I was in a tight spot and had the wand removed and was using it as a shorty vacuum. Turned it off to move it and didn't work again. The power cord is good and I ohmed it out down through the motor from the switch and it was OK. Is there any kind of reset/in-line fuse for the motor. I did a search and it appears that some models do have a reset. Thanks

Oops, posted too soon. Turned out that the switch was in fact bad. Ordered one. Pretty cheaply built switch for a $400 vacuum.

The switches very seldom go wrong actually, although they do look a bit dinky I admit.
