How to change the power switch on your Sebo BS36 or BS46.

Estimated time: Five minutes for anyone practical enough to change a plug. It doesn't take much more skill than that.

First, clip off the back cover and remove the paper dust bag.

Undo these three Phillips screws to remove the cover:

You then have this:

Next, undo this Phillips screw.

Undo these two connectors:

The switch housing now pops out:

Undo these two electrical connections:

And the switch housing comes out like so.

If you are replacing the actual switch only, you will see the switch slides out with four spade connectors to undo. Note where they are located and be sure to reconnect them to the same spades on your new switch.

In some cases, you will have access to a donor machine or used spares, in which case, its easier to simply replace the housing and wires complete. Be sure the browns and blues go back in the same connectors they came from.

Reassembly is a simple reverse of disassembly. Four electrical connectors, a Phillips to secure the switch housing, the three Phillips screws to replace the cover and simply pop your bag and back cover back on.
