Watch out GHD, Dyson might be taking over hair care now! It's deffo a beauty product and has a motor so it's deffo a hairdryer I believe :icon_nod: Mine broke last week so will wait to see how much this is, bet it's over £100 though sadly
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-3530848/Is-James-Dyson-blow-away-beauty-industry-Mysterious-invite-believed-launch-hairdryer.html
And check out Dysons website!
-
As always, far too expensive...
-
The most expensive hair dryer I seem was a £120 one in Argos, it also straightens your hair and has different speed settings as well as heat temperatures so unless the Dyson one is better than that, it should remain under £120
-
Maybe Dyson should concentrate on making a vacuum that doesn't self destruct when you look at it !
-
They will reveal it tomorrow, cant wait
-
299 pounds!!!!!!!! :o :o :o :o
That is insane!!!!!!

Shocking lol. Everyone on benefits will have one next week. 😜

From £299 too so more expensive options potentially!
-
I had the email as well.

[attachimg=2]
But I agree with the above, £300 for a hairdryer? :o
-
I got the email too! £300 omg
-
Already on sale in one colour only on the Dyson Japan site.
[attachimg=1]
¥48,600 is coincidentally, £300.
-
You can get a hair dryer for £5.99 at Argos.
-
The usual Dyson sheep will follow with the "must have" attitude, In reality however it will be cheaply constructed have below average reliability and be heavily discounted making it impossible for retailers to maintain the RRP.
-
I want a Satin blue Dyson Supersonic (the colour of a DC41 cyclone) I think that would be really nice for men. Also, the coloured part is the back of the product :o The other side is where it blows
This is all over Facebook! ;D People love it, I hope to get one when the prices are lower
Meanwhile I am going to buy this:
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4434122.htm
I had one of these for a few months but it broke last week. Was good but has a really short cable which is around a metre and a half but I like the different speed settings, temperature settings and a cool button ;D

That is sort of me, but the price puts me off :/
-
Dyson products are always fairly expensive. I can accept a 400 pound vacuum, vacuums on the whole are fairly expensive for small appliances. For things like this though, where one can be had for a tiny, tiny fraction of the price I really can't understand.
Dyson vacuums here in the US aren't even the most expensive cleaners you can get, but they are good and have substantial advantages over some others. This is the same reason I won't buy one of their fans, too expensive for not enough tangible advantages (for me) over a substantially cheaper fan.
How much better can it actually be?

I just read in the paper that Dyson's profit is £448m on sales of £1.7b. 26% is quite a high bottom line for a manufacturer who spends so much on warranty claims and marketing. I wonder what those hairdryers cost in Malaysia to make? About £20 tops is my guess. Double it for shipping, import duty, VAT and distribution. That still leaves a very healthy profit on an easy-to-ship small item.
I bet they only have a two year guarantee like a fan.
The cordless version will be out within a year or so. By then, they will likely have ironed the early faults out. I bet the price will go up then too.
-
I totally agree with all that!!
-
Product info video:
-
It looks pretty robust, like all dysons
-
I reckon they will sell quite well, mainly to posh stuck up people who have to have the latest tech
Like this annoying yet attractive bird in this review
Of course, all the styling/fashion people/shows will buy them by the bucket load, so they will be deemed a success, then Argos/QVC will sell them on buy now pay later/monthly payments and the average chav will get their hands on them.

There's a YouTuber called "Zoella" who has over 10,00,000 subscribers and I'm waiting for her to buy one and review it lol, literally most people under the age of 25 know her and I'm sure she would do some sort of product placement maybe.
Companies always send her products for no reason too, she even got given a Bissell carpet cleaner once from the company!
Most YouTubers I know own Dyson products (like vacuums and fans) I see in the background of their vids all the time. ;D
-
Zoella has a Dyson Supersonic!
PS She also owns a silver Dyson Hot+ Cool and and a Dyson DC26 ;D

Got to be a scam of some kind. "Put the money in my bank and I'll post it out, honest mate...."
-
Either that or a house brick in a box.
But then gumtree, so you could knock on his door, show him the money but then request the box to be opened, then see
Of course you may be jumped on by 14 of his mates when you find out it's a scam, and it'll probably not be worth it
-
True, too good to be true
-
A very good and long review on this item.
-
Looks good! I really hope they do the chrome satin blue colour (DC41 cyclone colour) I would love that!
Men need hairdryers as well lol, a pink or white one looks a bit feminine imho
-
I've watched this video of the new Dyson hairdryer but I'm still not sure
has anyone actually used it and been impressed? Getting mixed reviews :(
-
:biglaugh:

I turned 2 down recently. They'll come through the trade channels soon enough. My wife is waiting for one.

Once we get the rep visit, I will mention it.

I'm waiting for the dyson air conditioner. Anyone that comes up with a quiet portable unit will have my undying devotion.

I agree with that, but the problem is they're expensive... I imported one from Germany because it was better than the ones sold here... I had to send it back because it broke point is Dyson will charge £700 plus for an A/C unit... I'd rather bake in my own sweat.
-
You mean boil :))
My school had these air conditioners and they were actually really good, the teacher
Would leave them on all lesson which was all hour and our hands would be freezing cold
Then after lesson we walked out and it was like a sauna
-
Ours are good but noisy, the next sort are split so permanently installed and expensive but the noisy part, the compressor is outside so they are much quieter. If someone developed a quiet compressor
-
I know from my travels abroad that Mitsubishi pretty much own the home AC market. In fixed through wall installations, at least. Stand alone ones need to have pipes out of windows and all that lark.
-
Yep that's what our are, but the pipe is vented through the wall or (not perfect) up the chimney.
-
I'm surprised at Mrs Madrat not wanting one by now. I've not told amy they exist...
-
We don't use hair dryers, we prefer to evaporate naturally :chuckle:
In fact the last time we used the hair dryer it was to dry a chicken that had fallen into the pond :boggleeye:
-
Kim Kardashian has just got a Dyson supersonic today (snapchat)
-
I really don't want one now then!
-
Lmao 😂😂😂
-
their getting bad reviews already, this was on trust pilot, the bottom line* in unbiased reviews

Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer
I bought this product with high hopes: I wash my (long) hair every day and I really needed a reliable hair dryer that blows dry fast without leaving my hair unmanageable. I read and watched the presentation of the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer and I had the feeling I found what I was looking for. I was willing to spend the eye-watering £300 as I take great care of my hair.
I’ve been using the Dyson Supersonic for 4 days now and the experience is horrible. It misses the marks on both main qualities advertised by Dyson: 1) reducing time for blow dry: unfortunately I didn’t noticed any reduction in the time I spend to blow dry my hair, if anything, in fact, it’s taking me longer; 2) enhance the “shine” thank to a microchip which detects the heat from the brush: it doesn’t do that, my hair overheats with the brush anyway.
I didn’t change the way I blow dry my hair and in fact I have even followed the “styling tips” advertised on their website.
The result is terrible: my hair feel “dusty”, frizzy and unmanageable.
I’ve also found absurd the fact that on their website consumers can write reviews on all product except the Supersonic Hair Dryer: I appreciate that the product is new to the market, but at that price I find extremely unfair not being given the opportunity to write a review. This can really make the difference in the choice of a good hair dryer. I’m extremely disappointed. LV

Another famous YouTuber (who is well known for her other channel- Miranda Sings(08)) got one recently, she explains things really nicely ;D
PS yes she's the woman who got divorced like 3 months ago and it went viral
-
I prefer this review...
-
What a waste of money haha.
-
Wifey and I looked at these while in John Lewis recently, they have a test area where you can play with them, she decided that they are not worth the money and declined to buy one.
For me, I'd expect a better finish on the product, a nicer feeling switch and a cable grommet that doesn't look like it will snap any moment for that kind of money.
-
Exactly my point about Dyson all together.
