Title: Two Hoover Juniors: One for sale, One I need a bit for.
Post by: MVacs on March 22, 2016, 04:50:10 pm
So I acquired these two the other day.

[attachimg=1]

I haven't looked at either of them beyond what you see.

The one on the left I'll take a bid on. What are they worth?

This one I need a front cover for.

[attachimg=2]

I might mint that one up for the museum area. Anyone got a decent brown cover?

If the one on the left is worth nowt, I might "remanufacture" it - loads of new bits, powder coated bits, rewired and earthed, etc. Make it look brand new and bung it on the shop floor. I am sure they still have a following........

I picked up a Pumpkin one for 99p the other day!

One on the left has a pattern bag, but lots of spares should you want to start breaking and selling parts...

One on the right looks nice. Don't think I have a brown one, got a Pumpkin cover with no Hoover roundel in the shed I think. Ebay/the 'special' area at Q/Autovac? Looks very very VERY faded though, have you ever heard of Retrobright?

No? We normally use G3.

Can the Hoover roundels be obtained anywhere? If so, I can get an after-market brown one with no badge.

Is there a 'special area' at Autovac?

I happen to have a load of Hoover self adhesive roundels that I bought off an old engineer years ago. I'll offer one up to mine and see if it's the same size and post you a few over if so.

I've known Dilys to have some old stuff kicking about, you never know! Failing that, paint up another one with plastic paint?

I've just ordered the brown one new. So a roundel would be much appreciated.  :icon_nod:

The Brown one has seen a Hoover Service centre too, can you read which one or is the label too faded?

I think Q still have motor and agitator bearings for these too. Full set of those, and a new belt and brush strips will have her Beating, as it Sweeps as it Cleans again!

So the blue one is still up for grabs.

If nobody fancies it in the next week or so, I will do it up and put it on the shop floor for fun. Someone will have it as a bit of nostalgia.

You got anywhere with these at all? Once done they should outclean a DC24 (a 119 outcleans a 24 though!)

I got a new handle for my U1012 today so can crack on with that at the weekend

I got an old stock, after-market brown cover. And some roundels from you. But they are untouched as yet. Been a bit busy in the new place.........

I have about 8 museum machines that are not touched as yet. Get up here for a holiday - I'll keep you busy while Amy shops.

Got room for my caravan?

Big gated and camera'd yard out back. Room for maybe a dozen vans. Not strictly ours but we can (and do) use it.  :thumbsup:

Insanely expensive but totally awesome German WMF coffee machine available (my one extravagance).   :coffee:

3 bogs (as an old pub), Dyson hand dryers in house, and within 100 yards is every type of waxing, plucking and preening shop that covers hair/nails/nether regions/whatever for women at not so much £. And an Asda   :underchair: across the street, but there is a Sainsburys 5 minutes away for everyone else.
