Title: Dyson DC33 power issue
Post by: Tonymini145 on January 23, 2016, 08:24:31 pm
Helped a family friend out by gutting and refurbish their dc33 that was lacking power

I found filters where clogged clumps of dirt in cyclone when cleaning

Now all back together it feels much better but doesn't feel greatly powerful anyone else had this ?

I'm comparing it to a DC14 I'm assuming the motor wattage is different maybe ?

I always change the filter on this model for  a dc07 sponge one I find its  a lot better ,its the same motor as the dc14 ,normaly the dc33 pulls the carpet up tbh

The motor seemed smaller than the 14/07 motor ??

The motor is the same size, but the DC14 has 290 Aw of suction and the DC33 has 255 AW of suction. Also, the DC33 and DC14 have a large debris channel whereas the DC07 doesn't and all Dysons without a clutch have no large debris channel either (DC07/14 origins etc) ;)

The motors are the same bar a few that had a similar variant. Air watts is misleading and can never be relied upon.

The DC33 has that ropey filter that looks clean when it isn't. Either put a DC07 sponge filter in it or make sure the one you fit has been in the washing machine. Rinsing them - as Dyson suggest - is next to useless. We steam clean (pressure wash) ours outside followed by the washing machine.
