Welcome Andy, yes if you like it, fix it. Our spares page for those is >>here<<, you can choose between a gen and a non gen motor. You'll need a HEPA filter too. The strip down topic with photos is >>here<< which will help you do the job.  :tiphat:

Kirby Vacuum Cleaners / Re: Kirby sales worth?

I'm not sure what I will do with my Kirbys tbh, I'd like to see them refurbished just because I've never done one before, but the metalwork will have to go to Mr HooverLux to be polished up as I cant do that, and once done it'll still not be worth alot, so I'll probably keep them, where they'll sit in a box tarnishing in the loft... Bit of a dilemma really!

Exactly the reason I sold the two I have recently. That and the fact as a machine they did not interest me at all.

Hi Guys
Problem solved. Machine running well with no hicups.
I did buy and install the new cable with crimped spade terminals. I used old cable guide. Fitting was quite easy.
Thanks again and keep up good work on this forum.

Our trusty Dyson DC 32 Animal which has endured eight years of Cyprus dust decided to quit rather spectacularly last evening. Having returned to UK we affixed the tv bracket to the lounge wall, sucking up as much dust as possible in the process. The next task, a light dusting of a cupboard saw the motor waver, smoke and sparked started to issue before the power was isolated. One dead DC32. Is she worth repairing?  :'( Thanks for having me here btw, Andy

PCB and motor together, it's pointless and frustrating trying ANY other way! DC24 and 25 have god awful head designs, their my bread and butter for repairs in my area! Many guides on these forums on how to change them!

I'm here! Sorry, very busy at work, I've fallen asleep putting the kids to bed the last few weeks!

Mr Clive, I have replied to your email a few days ago but not sure if you have seen it, the 375 belts are actually quite rare, however I posted the question in a facebook group I am a member of, where us sad vacuum cleaner collectors hang out and many members have sets they would be willing to sell, but I'd need permission to pass your contact details on for that

Or... https://blackwellanddenton.com/product/vacuum-cleaner-drive-belts-twin-pack-hoover-375/?fbclid=IwAR2g0DiZcV-4jVaawLfQcEcLQ5PXWdENwhfpigASblXBsA4N8_Whtoc0P1w and I strongly recommend picking up a set of brand new brushroll bearings from Manchestervacs (PM Mvacs as I doubt he has them on the shop, their not *whisper* sebo parts... And I can almost guarantee you will need them if you've not replaced them already within the last two decades! I can point you towards a guide to doing it if you need!

Kirby Vacuum Cleaners / Re: Kirby sales worth?

I like my 2 kirbies, but they are utterly worthless unless fully minted up, plus everyone who collects them already has a fully minted up one!
My VERY complete Legend 2 (missing 3 small tools across the whole thing) was 25, my Heritage was free and I bought a MASSIVE near complete boxed set of tools and kits for 20...

I'd get maybe a fiver if I sold them!

They are very good, I dailied a G5 for a few years and it was great! It had tech drive though, which makes all the difference, I used the Heritage 2 for a month and had arms like popeye afterwards!

Can't quite agree with an X7 being a better carpet cleaner than a well sorted late 90's/early 2000's Kirby though, when their set at the right keight they shake the nails from the floorboards and really do a good job! You have to have the space for it though I'll admit, but used properly and with some common sense, they are astonishing!

It's VERY similar to the DC07 cable change

Mind you get a cable with the cord exit guide and crimps already fitted if your not too confident about doing that yourself, plus you'd need to buy a crimper and many crimps to do the job which you would have lying around forever more!

Sure Mvacs could sort you out a plug and play cable for happy money!

I loved my SM2! Really REALLY prefer the manual height adjustment! If it wasn't the SM2 with the large head I'd have kept it, but it was far too big really! Made a flipping mint selling it though! 15 or similar from Facebook, it went out the door at 130/140!

Would have another, but probably an SM1 just because their a nicer size for 2 bed houses!

Which looks lovely! And it worked really well afterwards!

I even used it for a month! (Pre refurb actually, should have put this at the beginning of the thread!) It was really nice to use, tbh identical to the Turbopower 2 I used in 2017 but the longer hose made it alot nicer to use!

The lovely Mr HooverLux (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMYshVt0Nxxh3xSedKlHwJw has this now, I gave it to him earlier in the year, along with the Dirt Devil featured at the start of the above video! He was very thrilled!

Thanks for reading!
