Title: DC33 gasket

I installed a new dc33 gasket on the cyclone ( a Quаltex one) the one which is prone to damage . Once I installed and used the machine I can hear a very small hiss from the cyclone. Is it a problem?

Check around the perimeter, do you see any gaps? It could be hissing due to the suction leaking as a result of the seal not being fitted correctly.

There's no gaps. Could the seal need replacing again? I fitted the seal properly and tightly.

Are you sure it’s a hissing noise? The cyclones can be howling when they’re all clean, and you’re not used to the noise since it’s a clear air path, so it’ll make some noise

I noticed that one of the seal bit isn;t on the cyclone. Can I use it like it is or will it damage the seal?

TBH it’s best if you make sure the seal is on right and it’s sealed all the way around with no gaps
It’s like that for a reason, so no air escapes

I've ordered another torx 15 screwdriver as I've lost mine somewhere  :'( :'(. It's expected to arrive between Wednesday and Thursday. Can I still use the machine?

I've had one of the edges bend in whilst assembling before without realising, doesnt take much!

Worst case scenario is if it's a leak between chambers you may have to wash the filter a bit earlier than normal, or if it's a leak from the outside, you'll have slightly less suction.

I'm trying to make the seal fit properly to stop that hissing sound. Any advice on how I could fix it?

               Maybe coat the channel the gasket sits in with some sealant, wipe up the excess with a mild degreaser, then pop the gasket and manifold back on?

                   Unless the gasket is uneven or cracked, which sealant would temporarily stop.
                   I cant think of another reason why it would leak.
