Title: dc21 needs a new cable fitting into my recoil unit , what other models fit ?
Post by: jamesey on January 30, 2017, 05:00:54 pm: ive got a dc21 motorhead cylinder hoover that has lost its neutral , ive stripped it down and found a snapped wire on the end of the recoil unit that needs a strip down to get to it , ive never done a recoil unit and looking at other posts it looks a bit fiddley :'(
i was just going to buy another identical on but then saw a post about some of these are different , with mine being a rare dc21 i thought id ask the question , thanks

Can you post a photo of both sides of yours?

To me they look the same but the cables come out the opposite side

I never knew there were different types of rewinds between the 08/19/20/21 :/ You learn something new everyday! :icon_nod:

I hardly ever refurb cylinders, I have two DC08s which I'm reluctant to refurb for no reason

I have a blue one with a brand new looking contact head, hardly used but needs a motor and filter cover, possibly some hose connection damage

and an 08 origin with a missing head, blown motor and faulty cable rewind ;)
