I have a dyson dc04 its been great up till now I took it apart and cleaned it because of the noise, the brush still going round but still makes a noise like there is something stuck in it the noise seems to be coming from a black part inside
-
Did you take the brush roll out and check the bearings were not seized?
-
Is this a ratcheting noise?

Is this a ratcheting noise?
mine makes a horrible ratcheting noise.........what is it?
-
have you twisted the belt on the clutch ?
take off and make sure then do again
good luck

I did unhook the belt from the roller.....but though I had it back on properly......is it just a case of doing it again..or is there a way of dismantling things further...I dont have any instructions and was boing it blind.......I unloosened the 3 screws on the head, lifted the cover out of the way.....cleaned it.......but did have to move the belt to get in properley,,,,,I then slid the roller back under the belt and fit the head back together.....
Does this sound like my belt is miss aligned or something - thanks
