Apart from the demonstrations it was pretty much the same until 80s privatisation.

The Gas Showrooms were very similar till the 80s.

Yes, I remember being dragged round both as a kid, you could also get advice from people that actually knew what they were talking about, and even pay a bill! Now that was customer service. I remember a woman in the gas showroom that would tell you all about her legs given a chance.  :biglaugh:
