Title: Dc22 with dc08 floor tool possible
Post by: Mike.heath on May 02, 2017, 12:46:48 pm
Hi everyone, been a dyson owner like most people since day 1. My current dc22 is going strong but have a knackered floor tool. Also owning a dog and constant hair clogs I decided to pick up a used dc08 turbo or turbine head ... But....

My wand doesnt fit onto the head tool... Easy I thought there must be an adaptor.... What a mine field
Two hours later and totally confused

Does anyone simply know what I need please?

Elgin is wrong.

I am not aware there is a reliable adaptor to do what you want. But there may be a work around.

The DC08 head you have, measure across the inside of the tube hole. What does it measure in mm?

Also a photo of the tool ends of old and new would help.

You are correct this is a minefield. Especially with DC08 and DC19 heads. Why we sell >these< (https://manchestervacs.co.uk/Dyson/dyson-cylinder-turbine-head).

The other problem you have is any head that is bigger than your original will struggle to spin very fast as the DC22 is a smaller machine than normal with less suction than a full size cylinder.

Also caution: The photo on that listing is our adaptor and our design, that is not the one Sparesworks/spares2go actually sell or send. They sell an inferior one with a much longer end on. They are dishonestly using a photo of our product.

That isn't for that.

I said above there is no easy answer to this particular combination.

Using what you have, and something like Araldite, you could do this:

[attachimg=1]

Butting the two at each end together and glueing a sheath tube over the both (like household waste pipe) would also work.

Hardly ideal, but you are not going to find a plug and play solution.

Will the long knock off of our adaptor you bought not glue straight into the 32mm hole in the head?

I'll have a go at your suggestion looks like the only way it will work. The reducers/adaptors are ones I had with my handheld dyson (bought it as a refurbished set) the reducer dosent go inside or over the turbine adaptor unfortunately

I dont really have much idea about these adapters
