Hello, I hope someone on here can help me out today. I have a DC25 that is in good condition but the on-off switch was finicky. While I was in the process of replacing the three switches, at some point I noticed a small strong magnet on the floor. Either it came off my DC25 or it's a big coincidence. I read about the DC16 having a magnet on the filter so the machine won't turn on without it. Does the DC25 also have this feature? Where does the magnet go? With all three switches replaced my DC25 still does not turn on. Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm 99% sure these don't have filter magnets

Have you checked the wiring between the switch and the ball and motor ?

No magnets

Thanks, that's a pretty crazy coincidence that I found a small magnet on the floor right where I was working.
The wiring all seems to be good. I have replaced all 3 switches.
What about the thermal cut-off? Is that a switch that is replaceable on this model? Where do I find it?

cut off is mounted on the side of the motor.

Sometimes the switch covers need a bit of lubrication or just a good wash.
More likely the problem is with the mains cable, damaged at either the plug or body end.
