TOPIC EDIT: AVOID THE CHAT AND CLICK >>HERE<< (https://manchestervacs.co.uk/DysonForum/index.php?topic=3001.msg28715#msg28715) FOR DYSON CORDLESS STANDS IN THE UK. :thumbsup:
I wanted the opinion of the good folks here on this product which is becoming quite popular in Japan:
[attachimg=1]
No wall drilling......
[attachimg=2]
No cables trailing about........
[attachimg=3]
Tool storage.........
There is also another cheaper type which I am less impressed with.

I have a couple on the way to look at. But wanted to gauge the thoughts of the forum glitterati and our general readership as well. 8)
Another question would be, how much would you expect such a thing to cost?

I like the look of the first one but I only have a 44 animal so I wouldn't make use of all the slots. I am considering a V6 total clean.
-
If I had that sort of thing I would likely use the machine more. They are most convenient to use when hung on a wall but I can't do that!
The cost would be a big factor though.....
As long as it costs around the average dyson accessory I would be interested.
-
Certainly a good idea. Drilling holes does out people off.
The first one looks very industrial while the second one looks too flimsy.
Personally I would prefer the sleek design of the second one with the stronger looking base of the first.
In terms of cost, it would be dependent on your audience. If you're selling to customers that are purchasing a £400+ machine they probably wouldn't blink at £60+ to have to drill holes.
-
There are also wooden type ones.
[attachimg=1]
But for me, they don't stand the 'up close' quality scrutiny, either. Visible screw heads, etc. makes it look like a piece of Ikea tat.
This one is slightly better.....

The Formica type finish, for me - while OK in Japan - is a bit naff. But tastes differ I suppose.

I agree that is around the price point. They will cost more than that to bring in a handful to look at, but if produced and shipped in by the container load, the price will come down of course.
-
There will be people that need it as there is no wall space etc
-
I would have bought one if I hadn't already ruined my wall :'(
Perhaps on the shopping list for when we next decorate.
-
I think that price sounds fairly reasonable, I assume some cost more then others.
MVacs, do you know if they are compatible with all dyson stick vacs?
-
Price wise i'd say the lesser quality / looking good ones about 30-40, and the better quality/better looking ones - 60 -80 might be high but worth it?
-
I like the first one! The second one looks like a microphone stand :/
-
First one looks the best but I guess it's all down to cost as to how well they'll sell.
Marc.

I expect so, but that is one reason why I have a few on the way to look at.

That's where I am up to now, the first one looks better, but cost and demand are still up in the air. One reason for the topic is just to get a feel for demand, not in a "do you want one" way, just overall opinions. Do people like the idea, etc.
-
Roughly how many customers do you get in your shop in about a week?
As they are the general public, they probs know what a cordless Dyson is from adverts, you could try asking them on their opinions too :thumbsup:

Just a thought, things like this could be well aimed at the rental housing market as quite often tenants are not allowed to drill walls as part of their rental agreement so that possibly opens another sales avenue to explore.

Is there anything available that lets you mount the spare tools onto the wand?
-
I'd have one, I'd most likely go for the wooden type though ;)
-
So here is the type that is coming in the near future:

I had a mailing from someone else about something similar recently - coincidence or have you guys got together on it?
-
I've seen them on someone's eBay shop for a few weeks now too.

Others are superficially similar in appearance but different. As ex fabricators, I gather they have home-made their own from quite heavy steel. They had the idea around the same time I was investigating them. There is no connection between our product and theirs.
Ours are being professionally manufactured as a flat pack product with more features. And ours will be considerably cheaper.
-
Sounds great :thumbsup:
-
The first black one is nice and I actually like the "Ikea tat" wood one, as well.... however, I charge mine on top of the kids' toy kitchen. :whist11:
-
Our one will also be available in the US from a local shipping source in GA. ;)
-
Great to know!
-
These will be in stock in February. :thumbsup:

That looks quite smart, I saw the video a while back and thought it would go well in a laundry room... Hmm I wish I had a Laundry room...
