Title: DC08 does HEPA filter affect cyclone
Post by: clogged on March 05, 2015, 10:17:27 am
Hello, my first posting. I have a DC08 and quite a while ago I started using HEPA filters for the post motor filter. I have found that the pre motor washable filter now gets more debris on it and clogs more quickly especially with the larger bits of debris that always in the past were caught in the canister before it got to the pre motor filter.
My question is, due to the more restrictive HEPA filter has it affected the cyclone effect in the canister and the pre motor filter is now having to do alot more work ?
Thanks

I would say no.  If there is more crap accumulating on the filter I would check your cyclone and its rubbers.

Thanks for that Madrat. I have actually stripped the whole cyclone down, cleaned it out and checked the rubbers and gaskets and they seem fine. I will probably strip it down again to have another look.
