we have had a few customers bring in dyson dc25's with noisy brush rolls.
Upon closer inspection we have found that the cam that drives the brush roll is worn and damaged.
In every case I have dealt with so far the customers have admitted to using the machine on there laminated wood floors( very big in SA) Without switching off the brush roll. :(
this causes the brush roller to spin faster as there is no resistance like their would be on carpets and the cam fails.
So if you have a dc25 switch off the brush roll when vacuuming your hard flooring ;)

We get a lot of DC24's in with noisy brushrolls that need replacing. We don't see too many DC25's for repairs yet as most are still under warranty.

I worked on one the other day they are bloody small. I consider the 25 small.
we don't get them here this one was a UK import
I was under the impression that the 24 was newer than the 25( will thats what dysons web site said any way ) Does the 24 not come with a 5 year warranty ?

DC24's are small. Hence on our sales page we say this:

You can see from the pictures above just how compact and light the Dyson DC24 is. This model is not particularly suitable for those who have big houses, kids, cats and dogs (you guys want one of the models above). It is aimed at the single or couple household really.
I thought the 24 came before the 25. I may be wrong........
We started seeing 24's first in any event.
