it lead a sheltered life! spent more time in the cupboard than out in daylight, and served me well! was regularly and lovingly cleaned, that was until today! after being nagged by my hubby to get the carpet hovered and furniture put back in place after washing the carpets over the weekend, and like a dutiful wife I did as I was told this morning, which lead to its demise!
shoved the sofa across the floor to make sure it was clean, then proceeded to play tetris with the other sofa and tripping on my dyson and falling and in the process putting my full downward force with my foot on the front where the roller is! and then landing myself on the floor with the handle hitting the door! I am fine however the dyson suffered, the connection where the roller and motor are fixing to the joint of the bottom of the handle the plastic is broken and also it suffered a blow to the top of the canister handle
so off I went and bought a dc50!
so now I have a surplus dyson albeit rather wounded, I have been told tho that its worth a fair bit of cash even as it is? whats your thoughts? its the purple and green one

Not many about and to be honest not a big call for them, strip it for parts and put them on ebay. Or look for replacement parts and keep it upstairs. If you put some pictures up in for sale bit someone might want it.
-
I didn't want to be messing around stripping it, it has to go all as one, yeah ebay might be the place then, although what with the fees and such I was trying to avoid that
-
Where are you based Dawn?
-
nr middlesbrough
-
Looks like eBay or Gumtree. As a whole damaged one, I doubt it will pull over a tenner.
-
I'd give you a tenner for it, where are you located? Most likely no where near Southend lol.
-
nope definatly not near southend, I'm nr middlesbrough

That's a shame, I'd pay postage buy it would be a big headache for you especially if you don't send boxes by Currier often lol.
You know if you stick the thing as it is on eBay and state the things that are broken you'll find it will most likely rocket into silly money... You'll probably have to post it though... ;)
-
well its all stripped down, thoroughly washed all parts that are safe to do so and disinfected aswell, and yes I would send items using a courier, I'm just waiting now for my security pen to mark the items with a uv light pen, far to many scammers and I don't want their broken items back after claiming mine didn't work! will be sorting out and putting on ebay in a few weeks time

Use parcel2go and you can book the collection. No pain for Dawn that way.
-
Blimey I wasn't expecting that! I had put you in the category of lazy ordinary person that can't be bothered to mess with an old Vacuum Cleaner... But you've proved me wrong and you've gone up a few notches in my category list ;)
Nice work! So will you be sticking around on here?

I used to use Parcel2Go but I found they are expensive and also unreliable so I now use Myparceldelivery.com. Better website and also cheaper for the same companies and so far very reliable!

ipost is very good, use them all the time.

it all depends on which item and what is the best way of it getting delivered, as to who I use, but for certain tho it will be sent tracked, I have been using ebay for far to long to know the ways that people try to get freebies
