Title: DC14 Belt Guard
Post by: Cappy1961 on September 15, 2017, 03:32:30 pm
Hello all...new to the forum and world of vacuums.. ;)

I am currently refurbishing  a early DC14 fixed brush model and upon replacing the motor i found that there is no belt guard fitted.

Now this Dyson looks as tho its been stripped before as there are lever marks on the motor casing (which i've now added to!) and i need to know if all DC14s were fitted with this belt guard or just some, IE Mk1's...clutched/ non clutched??..or is it a case of its simply missing from a previous repair and ill need to source one?

Thanks in advance

No, Every non-clutched dyson had the fan belt guards.
You are best finding and fitting one - I have just gone on without fitting one before and its fine, just makes a slight noise when the belt touches the motor case if its turning slightly on the brushroll etc

BTW there were only Mk1 and Mk2s of the later ball machines when they had to improve things without bringing out a whole new machine - DC14, 33, 07, 04, 01 there is only one type which is the MK1
