Looking for an exploded view for this DC18
Thanks
-
You can find the undercarriage one here: DC18 exploded drawings (https://manchestervacs.co.uk/DysonForum/index.php/topic,111.0.html).
Do you need another section? I can have a root about if you do.

Our chap has done quite a few DC18's lately, as we had a build up of them that I wanted to clear. In doing so, he has rebuilt a few cleaner heads so it might be fresh in his mind.
But we are closed until Thursday now, so I can likely get you an opinion then.
Anyone else with any thoughts, please chime in.

I'm sure you've probably already tried it, but have you taken the brushbar off the spindle and cleared all the hair and crud that can accumulate and stop the brushes from spinning freely?

My DC 18 also has a problem with the brushbar motor, it is not running. Can anyone tell me what voltage I should see going to the motor please?

What DC reading do you have?

Approximately 7.0 Volts....

Hi MV, I thought that you were going to answer my last....

7 volts is too low. I think you probably need a PCB. Either that or the wiring loom is damaged where it comes out of the machine.
What volts do you have going into the PCB?
The motor is an XLG77 on those I think? (I don't have one to hand). What is written on the motor?

Hi MVacs
I suspected that it was an incorrect voltage... I will check the machine when I next go into my workshop in oder to gather the required info and get back to you.
Thanks very much for the reply.

Sorry for the delay, bit of illness....
Just tested the voltages today and found 230 from the socket, and 230 onto the PCB. About 24 Volts was leaking out to the motor. Didn't disconnect the motor but I guess I should do before definitely blaming the PCB.
Will get to that tomorrow :)

Poked my meter into this again today and switched it to DC, found 300+ volts DC coming out of the PCB.
Is that about right, if so I am guessing that the motor is useless and I don't think the brushes are replaceable are they?
Hoping that someone can help.
TIA

Yes, it sounds like you need a motor. They are too small to replace the brushes on really, even if you could get them.
We do those motors for £35.99 inc delivery in case of need. You can find them here: DC18 Brushroll Motor (https://manchestervacs.co.uk/Dyson/DC18-brush-roll-bar-motor-921149-01)
