I gather our Mr Beko is at the TV studio today. :-X
-
do you know what his doing there
-
Ooh yes! :icon_nod: A vacuum show! ;D
-
what's the show called
-
Not sure and you won't be able to find it yet as filming had commenced today.
-
He is a bit tight lipped here, but I saw this on social media:
I'm on at 6.45. Makeup touch up and microphone at 6.30
[attachimg=1]
He might open up when he is back and has got himself back together. Telly can be a bit draining (I've done the odd bit of media over the years - mostly radio in the US, some here, and a bit of TV as well). It can take a day or two till you get your faculties back, especially if you have had to travel to do the stint. ;)

Sam has got a little video up about this on his youtube channel now.

So, some of you may know this, but ITV scouted me out for a new gameshow they are doing, and it was filmed today.
Sadly, a combination of nerves, the cleaners sounding completely different in the studio to our front room and me just generally not being ace with sound conspired against me and I didn't win, but it was a laugh!
I'll let you all know when it's shown, but there's some good cleaners to be looked at at least!
Knackered now though, just got home, I have pictures, I'll post them up tomorrow when my phone isn't on 1%!
I did mention to one of the senior producers whilst having a rolly with her that if they ever want to do a show where a cleaner is stripped down to its component parts I'm their man, will do better at that than identifying the sound blindfolded!
The slight balance is that out of 15 of us filmed today, only one person won. One girl was inconsolable with her loss, which put me into perspective a bit, and kicked me out of my glum, I was just annoyed but ultimatly not heartbroken as she was.

ITV own the copyright to the footage throughout the universe it seems, I wonder what Slartybartfast would think of that...

This made me laugh, channel 9 was a feed of some office, and some poor bastards computer. No cheeky 9gag or pistonheads for him!

And a parting shot from Marylebone, which nearly caused us to miss the train, some running got us there though

Nice! The last pic kind of looks like part of the Jaguar Landrover factory in Brum ;D
Or was it Sky Skills studios In London? Can't remember, either one ;)
-
I've never been to either of those!

Anyone who wants to watch Sam on the TV can do so here: http://www.itv.com/hub/go-for-it/2a4526a0003

I would love to go on and do it with a bunch of Dysons I think it would be fun regardless of winning or losing
Besides, our hobby is not only fun, but also productive and good money can be made from it unlike jumping on a pogo stick, pouring liquids off a digger and
And it's awesome enough that you're passionate about vacuums too
Well Done you should be proud ;D  8)

Thanks! It was horrible to watch, I made sure I'd had a few before it started! They were at our house for 5 hours filming the little opening film! It was nice to get some of the collection out and on show though! I'll never be able to look the Miele S5 in the eye again though...
Tayyab you should apply and do something with Dysons!
Amy saw the digger bloke do his bit (he is who stuffed up the whole day as they had issues getting the digger in and out). What they didn't show was his first attempt, where he dropped the champagne bottle trying to get the cork off the first time, it hit the deck but didn't crack, and after 5 minutes of the official people conferring he was allowed a second go, which was filmed. As he did part 1 on the telly but dropped it, he could then have a go with an opened bottle.
I thought he had done it with the actual bucket though, not a holder for the bottle...
Ah well, all over now! I should run a competition to see who can list all the rebuild threads for the machines shown, alot have featured on here! (or soon will do...)
-
Awesome! Also, how old do you need to be to apply? I might apply when I have at least 20 Dysons (have about 12 now)
And will need to get a Henry as well for the collection, a Kirby and maybe a vax turbo force as they should
Be easy to identify as they sound nothing like Dysons lol
Interesting about the digger guy! I didn't watch his part of the show properly but I saw a bit of him pouring the champagne into the wine glasses iirc
You've motivated me to go on actually lol ;D
-
I'll watch it on catch up later sounds interesting :)
-
Just watched it, where did they get all the Vacuum's from then?
Also that digger challenge I recon is easy, I'd do it I think lol.
-
All those vacuums belong to Sam :)
-
Blimey, that would have been enough for me to not go on the show lol, having to lug all those out of your home and to there where they could become demented.
-
They got a bloke in a van to pick them up and drop them off. The only damage was the lid to my dustette box went away, which is a shame but could be much worse.
And yes, the fact that they were mine makes it worse that I couldn't do it. I've not been up in the loft since putting thrm back up there! (which is a bit silly as loads need to be sold really, got no room for anything new
-
Well done Sam.
Me and my dad were watching you on TV. My dad said he thinks they would have sounded different in the studio, but we were cheering you on.
-
Awww thanks! They did sound completely different in the studio to our 2 bed terrace! Never mind though, it was fun!
