Title: DC04 clutched and non clutched wand differences!
Post by: jpbennett on August 05, 2018, 05:19:25 PM
I am a new member so apologies if I have not entered this question in the right manner. I did try a search but no joy.

Is there any way to tell the  difference between DC04 clutched and non clutched wands by any obvious physical differences. I need to replace my clutched wand and have been offered a replacement but the owner does not know what model it came from.

Thanks in anticipation.

One will fit the other it just gives you some hose compatibility issues sometimes.

Non-clutched usually have green fittings on a grey wand. Occasionally pale blue.

Fittings in yellow or other colours would usually tell you its clutched. A wand in red or purple is clutched too.

Clutched have an indented ring near the end of the aluminium pole, non-clutched dont.

Look at the end of the wand where the hose enters, if it has a grove then its clutched, if it has a buldge its non clutched.
