WANTED - DC07 Animal (Purple) cylinder top/handle
« on: September 25, 2013, 08:57:26 PM »
Got a 'broken' DC07 Animal with a chipped and snapped cyclone top. Anyone got one they would be willing to sell?

Will only want it if she runs ok, will update in due course but wanted to get the feelers out.

Want a purple one though!

Cheers

Sam

Yes, that's a Lavender one.

I'll see if we have one on Thursday (we are closed Wednesdays) if you are not fixed up by then.

We don't have one of these that isn't faded. Why we fit new silver ones to those.

That's ok, thanks for looking! By luck, one was listed on ebay on Sunday for 15 inc postage BIN, so jumped on it! Luckily its not faded! I think someone else has one that are sending me, which is handy as I have an animal cyclone assembly with a broken handle, so can keep it as a spare.

I considered a silver top, but thought it would look odd. So I kept to lavendar. I have a DC04 Absolute+ with a grey chassis rather than purple, am going to refurb that and use it as a test. If it sells with no issues then in future I'll just put grey parts on, if the majority of people dont care/notice that its not as it should be.

Sometimes my OCD gets in the way of profit! Would have been cheaper to put a grey top on!

I am the same. I am quite a purist and like stuff to be right and not cocked up. Even if it is only visually.

But sometimes we gotta accept that some of these are old models now and ideal/original coloured parts are not always available.

Dyson now only supply lots of stuff in silver only - DC04 hoses for example.

That's fair enough, and yes, I've seen from your shop pages that most stuff is only in grey now!

I found one on ebay for a decent BIN, so jumped on it! Dyson was re-asembled and sold to a very happy couple with a large dog and no vacuum! Think I'll grab any that I can in their colours in the future!

Blue and lavender always seem to break. Same with bin flaps. We heard it was the colour pigment in the plastic that made them weaker.

Their the only ones I've ever seen broken tbh. I have a DC04 Absolute with a cracked handle, but I think thats more due to idiot use than pigment.
