« on: October 22, 2013, 04:36:03 PM »
Just dismantling a DC08 (yellow/silver) and I can't get the pole to extend.
Any ideas anybody?

I thought I'd give an update on this if anyone has the same snag. Basically, the locking mechanism was that full of muck it had seized. So I stuck it in a vice and "gently" belted it with a rubber mallet until it was fully extended (took ages!), cleaned it, retracted it and repeated until it was extending/retracting properly.
Where there's muck, there's brass as they say!

Good save! I've thrown DC05 poles away with the same issue. Blast of WD40 in it for luck?
