dc27 clutch

Hi all I'm having some problems trying to realise the clutch cover on a dc27 have got sole plate brush and clutch knob off but can't seem to get cover off as it seems to be locked in place by another plastic piece ive taken out the plastic spindle but am at a dead end and know a hammer will soon make an appearance if I don't put it down and walk away any help may just save a dyson

It was a case of taking the locking pin out for tilt mechanism, then pushing the head fully locked into the upright position and you can squeeze it past. The part I really seem to have problems with is taking the clutch selecter knob off, I have the dc07 manual and watched lots of you tube vids but still seems really hard not to mash the plastic
