DC14 post motor filter air exhaust question
« on: April 13, 2014, 12:04:54 AM »
Is it normal for the air going through the post motor filter to be warm, to very warm? I have ordered a new post motor filter from Manchester Vacs, since the previous owners had it for 5 yrs and probably hasn't been changed. I just hope the motor doesn't burn out on me. Thanks

Yes, All vacuum motors get warm. They do expel hot air, so it's normal. It happens to my Dysons and they be maintained since new
DC14s are tanks, just need a slightly longer motor life. Do plastic parts often break on DC14s? Nope. DC41- Sexy looking futuristic and powerful machine. Just needs a better designed cleaner head wheel and cyclone clip along with a dense metal rod in the chassis.

Thanks for the reply. I was worried if it was expelling hot air it meant the motor was overheating.

If the motor was overheating, the machine would cut out. As long as it is warm and not red hot, you'll be fine.
