DC08 Contact Head reassembly help required
« on: June 12, 2015, 08:25:41 am »
Having a few issues with my current refurb. It has one of these heads

and I stripped it down as so (there's a thread coming you see...)

then washed and polished it all and put it back together...

and now the  :censored: thing wont change mode. It's like it's stuck on 'bristles out', and there's no movement in the mechanism to change it. Everything seems clipped in correctly, just jammed. Have I missed something obvious?

Springs? floor tools normally have them as the most important part of hard floor mode or something, or maybe a plastic latch isn't corresponded properly even if it looks like it's right, for example I think you might remember my DC40 has a cog in the yolk, it looked like it would just fit in but it had to have the end correspond to the first hole it goes into for the stabiliser to work right (aswell as thatblack clip I had trouble putting in lol)
Hope it helps

Fitting the bumper back on, does not ‘guide’ anything ?
Never saw the DC08 Head being stripped this far yet, that’s medal winning in itself ..
Got loads of these heads to compare, if the mystery remains..
It all started with a new DC08 in 2003.
Since 2 years I added DC01's DC02's DC04?s DC05?s  DC07 DC08's DC14 DC15 DC18, DC22, DC 23, DC26 and a DC33.
