My free Dyson DC01!
« on: January 07, 2016, 01:03:51 AM »
So on Sunday we had a lovely day visiting family in Rochdale and we were going to go home in the evening. Checked Gumtree and there was nothing in the area but there was a free DC01 in Stockport! Why not? ;D so I was worried it might have gone as the advert was over 20 days old (Surprisingly he still had it!) So we collected it and the guy seemed very nice not to have just thrown it outside. Had "loss of suction".

When we got home , I switched it on and it was the noisy YDK motor (Noisier than usual) and checked and there was a TK Maxx receipt from 2014 stuck in the soleplate and lots of dirt and hay clogging the soleplate. There was sweet wrappers and crap blocked in the wand too. Everything else seemed fine! Even the rubber thing on the soleplate was lovely and tight. The soleplate is faded and has a crack so I cant put the 3rd screw on. The cradle is worn but not broken.

Love it! Refurbished it and it works great ;D It came with a Henry stair tool and a cheapo vacuum combination brush and crevice tool 2 in 1 thing. I like the late wand. Non fadable! I like the purple release catch colour. I wish Dc07's and DC04's had this kind of purple. They seem to have a purple that looks dark blue

DC14s are tanks, just need a slightly longer motor life. Do plastic parts often break on DC14s? Nope. DC41- Sexy looking futuristic and powerful machine. Just needs a better designed cleaner head wheel and cyclone clip along with a dense metal rod in the chassis.

Yeah, nearby council estate. Did they have the wheels off your car while you were there?

You were this close to our new place. And this close to where we are now.

As you were ten minutes away, I am surprised you didn't pop in to take a peek at the gleaming Fantom Fury's and have a brew.  ;D
