New toy
« on: January 30, 2016, 10:59:15 PM »
I have a new toy

ila_rendered

Came with a fully working dc07 with all its tools for 27 and just up the road  refuses to charge even with a new battery.  I suspected this, and yes no output.

ila_rendered

Snip, and still no output.

ila_rendered

No filter  :angryman:

Smells like wet dead dog  :sick0012:

ila_rendered

Dusty as hell

ila_rendered

Cyclone is soaking in a bucket and battery is charging on laptop charger  :-X

After a few minutes and with a magnet over the sensor it worked but then died, will try it again after a few hours.  If it works a filter will be added to next Q order and I will just need a charger,  Mr MV are you there  :tiphat:

We have a handheld, a DC34 or 35 but I cant get along with it. It is forever blocking up, always needs cleaning, and we only use it for dust bunnies on a hard floor and crumbs. Our 7 year old loves it though.

What model is it? A DC16? I have some cheap chargers. I'll shave a quid (or two if I can) off whatever Q-know-who are charging on fleabay (they price this stuff down to the bone so there isnt much space).  :-X

Check the price before you buy a filter, I may have one of those too. We get our handheld filters from somewhere else at reasonable money. They haven't made it to the site yet but we have them all.

You got that with a DC07 Origin in Atherstone didn't you? Lol! I was going to bid but thought sod it :P

I want a DC31/34 Animal handheld and a Dyson V6 and maybe a DC44. Hear crap things about the DC35 and DC44 though but they look nice to me :P
DC14s are tanks, just need a slightly longer motor life. Do plastic parts often break on DC14s? Nope. DC41- Sexy looking futuristic and powerful machine. Just needs a better designed cleaner head wheel and cyclone clip along with a dense metal rod in the chassis.

I have a charger, but you can't have it...

If it's just the power brick that's dead though, do you have a similar voltage power plug lying around?

I love our 16 tbh, it's the best dustbuster we have had. Plus Eva can use it, so clears up her own mess! Then sits there turning it on and off until the battery dies...

Generic multi voltage laptop charger? It's starting to get into the 'alot of effort' category then though, best hope Tony has one. Any of the other handhelds got the same voltage brick?

From what I can tell the later ones had a lower voltage.

I did charge it from lap but the battery died after a few seconds, don't know if its because it dead battery, faulty hall sensor or because charger is not up to it.
