DC14 Samsung motor ?
« on: February 14, 2016, 11:06:55 PM »
Just overhauled a DC14 hepa as far as I'm aware it was one of the newer ones however every single 14 I've stripped has had a YDK motor anyone shed some light as to why this one has a Samsung motor ?

Can I see a pic of the samsung motor?
DC14s are tanks, just need a slightly longer motor life. Do plastic parts often break on DC14s? Nope. DC41- Sexy looking futuristic and powerful machine. Just needs a better designed cleaner head wheel and cyclone clip along with a dense metal rod in the chassis.

No probs
I had a Dyson DC14 all floors from Jan 2008, which blew last month and it had a YDK motor

I believe Dyson fitted them when they burnt out because they last longer? ButI thought panasonic motors lasted longer because DC25's use panasonic motors and they are built like tanks and never burn out like DC14's/33's with their YDK motors

Doing the same myself today.
The rubber motor mounts are different .
I have a spare YDK MOTOR FANCASE SEAL but not a YDK
MOTOR BEARING MOUNT. The Samsung MBM fits onto the YDK (MTR,240kk) motor but is it ok to use?

Sorry just found the post where it says I can reuse both rubbers on the YDK motor.
