Dc59 brush not spinning
« on: April 03, 2016, 08:56:03 PM »
Hi guys ,
I have a Dyson Dc59 in for repair . The brush roll isn't spinning ?
There is good suction from the motor body and when disconnecting the extension rod and putting the main brush head on to the motor body still no brush action ??
I have put my meter on the head and I have continuity.
Does anyone think there is a fault with the motor body and not putting power down to the head ?
Has anyone had the same issue ?
Any advice would be very much appreciated :-)
Cheers
Richie .

Its often the tube. See if you have juice coming down that.

With a multimeter see if there's power coming out the handheld, or if you have the mini motirised head see if that spins, if so, then check from the tube, the power coming out and then if so, then it's probs the head. Also check the bearings, the brush might look clean  but you never know ;)

PS take the bin off by pressing the bin release twice, then see if the prons are dirty?
DC14s are tanks, just need a slightly longer motor life. Do plastic parts often break on DC14s? Nope. DC41- Sexy looking futuristic and powerful machine. Just needs a better designed cleaner head wheel and cyclone clip along with a dense metal rod in the chassis.
